More on the Reagans

Here are the pictures I meant to post earlier.

It took the kids a little bit to warm up to us. But when they're warm, they're warm. :)

This was at the Amish place. Fun swing!

The little baby doll herself.

Little Macey sleeping the day away.

The whole family

We had such a great time getting to know them all better. To get their side of the story, click 'The Reagans' on the right.

More Anniversary Pictures

Here are some more pictures from our anniversary trip. On the way back home, we drove through Pilot Mountain, and Mount Airy. If you don't know what legendary tv show comes from this area, I feel sorry for you. :)

As you can see, a storm was brewing. We got into the car before it hit, though.

Also, in honor of our anniversary, I had wanted to post a wedding picture or two. But I had to wait until I was back home before I had access to them.

*Btw, these are not professional. I did a lot of re-touching on the computer before I had them printed.

Ahh... the memories!

Personal Policies Meme

I had never heard of this before, but Rachel tagged me, and I think it's cool. Just for this post's purpose, I'm renaming it "Pet Peeves."

  1. My feet have to be clean when I go to bed. And they have to be moist. I cannot sleep if my feet feel the least little bit dirty or dry. On occasion, I have gotten out of bed to go wash my feet.
  2. I do my own dishes. There are a few exceptions to this rule (i.e. mothers, sisters), but I don't like for my company to help clean up (of course, this only goes for when I have my own house).
  3. I have to wear makeup when I go outside the house.
  4. I must wear shoes when I go outside. (I know, I already did one about my feet.)
  5. I take my own Bible to church. I don't like to share, or have to use a hard-backed one out of the songbook rack.
  6. I take the camera everywhere, even when we're just going for a drive. The one time I don't have it, something really cool will happen.
  7. I will not try to catch a mouse if I see one in my house. Nor will I walk across the floor it just ran across. My job is to yell for my husband, or to stay put on top of whatever object I lept onto until he comes home.
  8. In the winter, I have to put on lip stick/gloss and lotion every time I get into the car. I don't think the car will go unless I do.
Okay, since I've only just heard of this, I'm not sure how I did. :) I now tag Stephanie M, Jeanene, Alicia, Suzanne, and Angela. Post your personal policies on your blog and tag five more people.

We heard the heartbeat!

Today, I had my first appointment with the midwives I have chosen to see. I really enjoyed them. I am planning to go to the Lisa Ross Birth and Women's Center for all my prenatal care and delivery. Of course, if the Lord places us in a church somewhere too far from Knoxville, I will have to choose something else. But for now I am loving it. Anyway, we went over a mountain of paperwork, weighing :(, and blood draining, I mean drawing. Then we heard the little heartbeat. It was such a precious moment! It took her a while to find it. We heard it for a second then it was gone. Then she had to look and look to find it again. Then we heard it for a minute really steady and clear. I think we have a squirmy baby on our hands. :)

Hello from West Union, OH

We have been here since Saturday night, visiting the Reagans and their church. Jamin preached twice on Sunday, and we were able to sing. It has been a lot of fun. Tonight, I am speaking in a ladies' meeting at the church. Yikes! I am super-excited, but extremely nervous too. We have really enjoyed our time here so far.

Tomorrow we are heading back to TN. We are going to try to meet up with a pastor in Bristol along the way, but we've had trouble working it out so far. Thursday morning, I have my first appointment with the midwives, and I should be able to hear my baby's heartbeat! I am so excited about this. I am 13 weeks now. Thank you all for your sweet comments and your prayers. I cherish them.

We have taken some cute pictures here with the Reagans, so I will make sure to post them later this week.

We are pleased to announce...

a new addition on its way into our family! God is blessing us with a child and we are so thankful. The Bible says "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward" (Psalm 127:3). We have been asking God to bless us this way, and in His time He did! Sometimes it's extremely hard to wait on the Lord, but His timing is perfect. And now that the waiting is part of the way over, I can say that I wouldn't have it any other way.

The baby is due in late December, as of now. I haven't had an ultrasound to help with the due date yet, so it will very likely change. Please pray for us, that all will go well. Making it past the three-month mark doesn't mean nothing bad will happen. But God knows best, and it's a precious thing to have a child even this long.

Let the Congratulations roll in!

In celebration...

of our third anniversary, we are spending a few nights in Raleigh, NC. There are a lot of neat things to see and do here. Today, we watched a service of Temple Baptist Church online, and we saw some sights. We went to a natural science museum first. It was really neat, but we had to ignore all the evolution talk.

This is a huge whale skeleton.

Three years together!

There was in observatory inside the museum. There were butterflies flying everywhere. So pretty! They even landed on some people. I really liked this part.

There was a sloth here. Now, I have never seen a sloth, but it was crawling around...so slowly. Jamin was telling me that all kinds of little parasites live on them, and sometimes mold grows on them. They are so slow!

350 billion year ago...

This was a pretty huge model!

After the science museum, we went across the street to the North Carolina History museum. It wasn't as much fun as the other one, maybe just because we were getting tired.

A model of the Wright brothers airplane, right up Jamin's alley.

A Conestoga wagon

So that was our fun trip to the museums. We won't talk about all the wrong turns we made, and the red light! But we really had a great time. We topped off our evening with a great Pizza Hut pizza!

So long, farewell...

Back to Virginia. We won't be back in TN this weekend. Everyone will have to get used to the long silences. I may be able to hit a library or something along the way, we'll see. Have a great few weeks and stay cool!

Turtle Huntin'

At the Boyers, they have a pond. It has been plagued with turtles, so Jamin has been hunting them. Now for those of you who will say, "Aww, that's so sad," let me explain. I guess they're really mean. They eat frogs and fish and stuff. So here are some pictures. It was actually pretty fun to hunt them. You just have to sit still on the side of the pond and wait until they come up for air. It usually takes more than one shot to kill them.

This huge one crawled out after it was wounded.

Eeewwww

The mighty hunter

Fact of the day: Did you know that turtles have very active reflexes?? After they are dead, they move a LOT, similar to a chicken or snake. For instance, the turtle with guts instead of a head would still stand up and try to walk. It was really weird. Well, I hope you're not grossed out! Have a great week!

What We're Doing

Well, I know we have been kind of hard to keep up with lately. Basically, we will be in Virginia during the week, and TN on the weekends. Most of the time, anyway. We enjoy being able to see both our families all the time. My blogging will only take place on weekends now. But I promise to keep up the best I can. I just hate it when you read a blog and there is a new entry only once a month. I refuse to do that! Stay tuned (every week).

On Memorial Day...

we had a cookout at my sister's house. We had a great time. It's always fun to get together with family. Living away from our families really made us love and appreciate them more. If you live close, take advantage of every time you can get together! :)
